Last night's game was about the perfect lead-in for a back to back, ice times were kept reasonable across the boards except maybe Letang. Though a couple years back we would have been thrilled if he was kept under 24 minutes, so I'll take it.

Let's go Pens!

Hopefully the Pens don't get skunked by Kallgren.

A loss where both teams score a bunch is acceptable. A loss where we score 2 goals or less will be annoying.

(Obviously a win is preferable to both)

The entries are killing them. We love to skate the puck in and stop up at the half wall and pass back to the trailer up around the blueline. Everyone and their mother knows that, so they have a guy or two on the strong side stay high to intercept that pass and go the other way.

We won’t ring around the boards, and we rarely dump and chase. It’s all way too predictable.

But once we’re in the zone with full control…it’s been better lately. Guys moving around a bit in unison to open up some passing lanes. Fix the entries and I think the PP turns around.

agree on some points disagree on others...I don't think zone entries are the biggest problem, yes it happens when they are disrupted or not in full speed, but they had plenty of sucessfull entries and set ups only to screw up a pass or shoot wide than lose the wall battle. Also when the play is set up they kept passing around perimeter without any desire to penetrate and push the defense back. What made us succesful with Kessel, he would get a puck on the left wall and first thing he does he would charge step or two fowards which either allows him better angle, collapses defense and allow all kind of lanes for Letnag Sid and Geno. Also no one pounces on rebounds cause everyone is so far remote from the goal. A few things that I hate is that for wahtever f***ing reason the PP is npw set up for Letang to be a main shooter, we all know that it has been months since we seen Geno rifle a slapper from the right wall. Jake is absolutely useless around the goal, and brings nothing. This is not getting any better until they put Rakell on left wall and have Zucker roaming, Geno and Sid plus Letang is showing signs of life lately on the top. But that will never happen so its a moot point anyways

In the not too distant further, the vast majority of the HNIC pregame segments are going to be these in memoriam type of segments. Pretty morbid and depressing to think about.

Both teams played last night, so both teams will be sloppy. Toronto has been working on being less sloppy on back-to-backs, so they might not be as sloppy as most other teams would be.
