As a way of helping us get through the last slow hours before the draft- and to get us talking about some fresh names- I suggest listing our favourite prospects who have never been ranked by CSS either in their mid-term or final rankings.

I'll start. Hopefully others will add more names. :)

(I don't know a lot about these guys, but I did come across them in my web surfing over the season and was intrigued by their numbers).

Sakari Salminen F
5'10" 145
27 19-24-43 +4 30 pim

This '88 born midget has passed through the draft once. He played for Assat in the Finnish Under 20 league. Yes he's very light, but those are some great numbers.

Miro Rahkola D
6'0" 176
38 12-7-19 -6 22 pim

A late '88 who also played for Assat's Under 20 team. He has decent size and his offensive production is solid, I especially like the fact he scored 12 goals in 38 games.

Emmanuel Boudreau D
5'10" 172
37 1-20-21 +10 20 pim

A true '89, played for Rimouski. Was injured for part of the season (or so I gather) and he's small. Will be interesting to see what kind of numbers he puts up next season.

Payton Liske LW
6'4" 206
15 8-2-10 -3 11 pim

A late '88 who played for Saint John in the QMJHL. His numbers make me curious. Obviously he missed most of the season. His points-per-game avg is ok and he is a big guy.

Zybnek Hampl F
6'1" 185
40 22-37-59 +2 12 pim

This '88 born forward has passed thorugh the draft once. Was one of the top scorers in the Czech Under 20 league. Also scored 7 points in 5 games in the playoffs.

Can you tell us more about him?

Center who played for TPS. He's very skilled and could possibly translate as a poweforward. He makes stupid decisions though sometimes with the puck

I'm really curious to see if these two get drafted. Messier would seem unlikely, but Perry may go to someone. Problem is, I think he is quite a bit less talented than his brother and he has shown pretty much everything he can do in junior. Wonder if Anaheim might grab in the 7th?

1. Will Weber, D, Gaylord HS. Intriguing big, raw, agile defenseman.
2. Patrick Cullen, LW, Washington Jr. Nationals of the Atlantic Junior Hockey League. A DC-area kid who'll likely be a late round selection by the Caps. Good shot albeit raw as well. Selected 4th overall by Indiana in last month's USHL draft.

Good names. I was thinking of Weber, but I thought I would let someone else mention him as I don't know much about him. I bet he is the 1st non-CSS player to get picked this weekend.

I had forgotten about Cullen. Thanks for reminding me.

He's a real QB on the PP. He has Patrick Coulombe written all over him.
