I liked the idea of keeping Losses, but II made a good argument I didn't consider.

Keeping losses encourages teams to sit on 2 starts. Removing losses encourages teams to actually play their goalies.

I agree. It also give a benefit to a goalie on a bad team that faces a ton a shots. Plus with having both wins and losses, it's like you are getting punished 2 fold for not getting the win

Except saves may impact save percentage, but they aren't the complete opposite. With Wins and losses, you will always get one or the other, so it's either two positives or two negatives; except OT/SO losses. Even if a goalie makes 40 saves, he could still let in 5 goals and have a sub .900 sv%... or they could stop 18 of 19 and get next to no saves and have a great save percentage. They are not directly tied together like you are making them sound.

Well the thing about losses and what has saved me a few times with it too I guess is that if you goto OT and lose, it doesn't count as a negative towards your loss cat. So in that way i see it as being a benefit to the losing team as well because they only lose 1 category and not both with that game.
