Damn, maybe somebody else will upload it as well.

It's on the official NBC youtube. I watched it earlier today.

EDIT: Didn't realize this was the same one posted above. For some reason it looked really blurry on that post.

Hard to believe this show went off the air 7 years ago.

Parks. Watched through the Office again recently. The Office has more memorable episodes but I feel Parks is more consistent. Also they both fall off pretty hard at the end but The Office falls off way harder. The last season of Parks is pretty lazy but the Office literally everyone turns into a cartoon version of themselves except for Jim and Pam who instead turn into depressing versions of themselves with that false flag potential break up plot line. The way The Office ended really bugged me.

The office ended when Michael left.

I thought it was fine for a little while but yeah it really started declining at that point. I mean it honestly pisses me off at times to think about how bad the last couple seasons were. The episode where they're all crammed in a bus legitimately enraged me seeing everyone act like an obnoxious cartoon character.

Wow. Stumbled into this thread at a convenient time. Just Covid-binged The Office. Loved it. Immediately tried to follow up with P&R... simply could not get into it. Is Season 1 of P&R just completely not representative or something? Because it was practically unwatchable relative to The Office. Other than Chris Pratt's character I could barely find a chuckle anywhere in P&R? Did I give up too soon on P&R? I can't think of any other reason this thread could even be possible. :dunno:

Season 1 of P&R is like a totally different show. I watched it when it aired and gave up on it after a few episodes. I rediscovered it during Season 3 and would probably take it over The Office.

Season 1 of P&R is rough, they tweaked Leslie's character and they hit their stride afterwards. I suppose it's not really spoilers per se, but Parks added some more characters after season 1 which helped.

I went 'backwards' and binge watched Parks from the beginning while in real time they were in their final season. I think I was able to catch up in time for the series finale in 2015. I haven't gone out of my way to rewatch full episodes since then, but I certainly will happily watch compilation clips on YouTube.

I didn't get around to watching The Office until 2018 and now that's one of my favorite shows of all time. Between the two, I suppose I prefer The Office since some of the characters are a bit more relatable but there are some Parks and Rec stuff that I'll quote far too frequently.

I thought they were trying too hard to be an Office clone in season 1. Best thing they did was change the tone. Also while I hated Mark Brandanowitz less on rewatches, it's clear he brought the least to the cast and I think the show got better when he left the cast.

It's an interesting contrast because the Office started strong (albeit too derivative of the BBC office at first) and ended weak, whereas Parks and Recreation was more of the opposite.

Jim and Pam's storylines started dominating and when Michael Scott left the show, it was a poor imitation of the ensemble cast show that had charted its own course away from its origins as an American copy of a Ricky Gevais vehicle.

I agree that Parks got better once they figured out how to do Leslie and Andy's characters. Aziz Ansari became less of a one note character and the overall writing improved.

I'll take Parks and Rec, but the Office at its peak was just as good. But I think it mostly comes down to the characters in P&R being better/more interesting, or not being ruined as the seasons went by.

Parks and Rec has a poor 1st season, but it's only 6 episodes, but the rest of the way it was great. The Office went downhill in later seasons, and not because Michael left -- it wasn't that good in season 7 either.

Sampled both these but thought they lost their mojo really fast.

I think the reason Parks & Rec had so much better longevity is because it did an incredible job building a huge cast of characters beyond just the main cast. (Among comedies I’ve seen only The Simpsons did a better job at this). When I’m watching late era episodes of The Office it actually irritates me that basically every character on the show exclusively dated and socialized with their coworkers.

My wife told me to not even watch season one of P&R, so I've never witnessed how bad it is, but from all accounts it's terrible.

The Office at peak may have been funnier, but Parks and Recreation was a better written show and more consistent. It never dove off a cliff like The Office did in 8 and 9.

I'm a person who is all for removing things that are insensitive, racist, etc. but that is one of the best episodes of the entire show and if you're canceling it, you're not understanding the entire point of the episode.

You might as well never air All in the Family ever again, these are lessons on how stupid you look being a racist/insensitive asshole in a comedic way.

I mean Parks and Rec had a similar thing with Ann dating 4 of the characters who worked in the building while Leslie “dated” (1 more of a 2 season love interest) 2 of them.

May have some bias as I hold a grudge against prks and rec for essentially murdering Party Down

Isn't it normal to socialise with coworkers? Most of your time is spent (wasted) at work.

I think that both are merely passable but underwhelming shows, with only The Office having some moments in its peak that made it flirt with being legitimately good (but what people are saying about Parks being more consistently watchable is probably true too).

The UK version of The Office is legitimately great, though, IMO.

The UK version was fantastic. A big plus was that it didn't run on forever. It's pretty much all peak.

I never got the parks love, but I see here people are saying season 1 is not really representative of the entire show, and that's the season I just couldn't get through.

Maybe I'll give it another shot at some point.

Yea it starts to hit its stride towards the ladder half of season 2 when Lowe and Scott join the cast.
