I mean.... retention on expiring contracts tends to net mid round picks. Not like they can retain for any amount of term.

There are many teams in that business. There hasn't been one trade made with double retention of a player's contract.

Take Kempny cap dump for 3rd round pick x2 from Washington

Retain 25% on Giordano and Fleury for 3rd or 4th round picks

Sounds like a decent plan

Though I am sure there are other options too

Every single playoff team would take Acciari for that price in a second. Why in the world would they give up such a cheap versatle center?

#2 mil for two playoff runs .
All we ask for in return is Knight …..
I’m guessing no way the Panthers include Knight in any deal unless it is a crazy massive overpay.
