To be fair, Lander has played pretty good every opportunity he's been given this year. He's never been sent down because of bad play, it's always been for reasons unknown. Lol.
Lander's lack of foot speed is what kills him at this level. He actually had and created some chances last night. The IQ is there but he doesn't have the speed to maximize it.
He's making the same money regardless of where he's playing, but still.

If he had the foot speed he'd be a legitimate third line centre at the NHL level. But even with his skating issues, he's been a very solid fourth line forward. He's an effective PKer, an ace on the draw and is an irritating opponent.

I think expansion might buy Lander some more NHL seasons...or he'll be back to Europe and be a very strong player there. Could still see him earning spots on Swedish teams in the future if he becomes an excellent SEL player.
