Congrats to Ovie. Awards like this are nice, but hopefully, before his Caps career is over, a Cup can go along with all his other awards.

Congrats to Ovi! Well done. There's no question what so ever that Ovi is more valuable to the Caps than Crosby is to the Pens, so this was the right choice. Even more significant that no WashPost writers were allowed to vote (WaPo rules)
Doesn't change my opinion about other things, but I am able to separate things that deserve criticism from things that deserve praise, even when they are attached to the same player. Wish other people could do the same.

I love the attitude of not letting injuries bench him in the playoffs, but Ovy really needs to tell the team's medical staff. There's plenty of ways they can help him cope with an injury while allowing him to still play through it (skate inserts and pain-killers in this case).

If a video of Crosby and the Pens celebrating can be put on the NHL commercial after the Red Wings beat them and win the Stanley Cup, anything can happen.
I still want someone to explain that one to me... if there's no bias, how does the losing team get featured on the league commercial?
