"Out" vs. "IR" on Yahoo Leagues

Can someone please break down the logic that goes into whether someone is "Out" or on the "IR"? Hedman is 3-6 weeks but he is still listed as "Out" so I can't put him on the IR, only the IR+, which is already filled up with another player who is "Out". Is there a certain amount of games that have to be played before they are on the IR?

It's a bit odd that Tampa wouldn't have made the transaction already to put Hedman on IR, but it's likely as rangerssharks414 said.

I know this isn't helpful for you but in ESPN leagues players with the IR or O (out) designation can both be put on regular IR in fantasy. Not sure why Yahoo is fussy about this.

Yahoo only gives a player IR if the team officially puts the player on IR. Teams don't always put injured players on IR right away. If they don't have the need or cap space to bring up a player then there is no need to move the player to IR.

At this point it seem dumb to have both designations in a league. Instead of 1 of each, just have 2 IR+ and the situation is solved.
