Agreed. Had the Habs truly vetted this kid's character they would have passed on him.If my aunt had wheels, she’d be a bycicle.

Classic.

He doesn't have karakter. Imagine we could have had Tkachuk. Sigh. Bergevin is truly a moron.Agreed. Had the Habs truly vetted this kid's character they would have passed on him.
That's a tough point to argue imo given what we know about how brutal he was handled from draft to leaving Montreal.Agreed. Had the Habs truly vetted this kid's character they would have passed on him.
Damn man. That’s well written. That's a tough point to argue imo given what we know about how brutal he was handled from draft to leaving Montreal.
Character is more fluid than it appears at the surface. Especially in the formative kate teen years.
Draft profiles about the player suggested a determined, hard working, end to end committed athlete.
The habits and behaviors that got him to his draft year may well have shifted for the worse in the years following... While easy to frame that as evidence of avoidable or predictable character flaw, I think the reality is that environment plays a huge role in dialing up, or dialing down many of those traits.
It's ultimately on him, , as he's accountable to his actions & attitude. But it may well be that he was displaying high character traits pre-draft, and "something" (in this case, a few years in the BargainBin karacter building club) enabled or encouraged the development of worse traits that became the habits we see today.
Either way, the guy is not making the most of his potential and is running out of time to get his career back on track
Many things can be true at the same time.If my aunt had wheels, she’d be a bicycle.
And it’s 2024. Your aunt CAN be your uncle. Many things can be true at the same time.
Not sure about the bicycle though.
Yep. When he came up he looked great. Then we inexplicably benched him and declared that he was tired. Julien then limited his minutes and he never seems confident again. That's a tough point to argue imo given what we know about how brutal he was handled from draft to leaving Montreal.

It's not that easy to gauge the character of 17 year olds.Agreed. Had the Habs truly vetted this kid's character they would have passed on him.
I chose this over the more graphic version that turns an aunt into an uncle. Many things can be true at the same time.

There has been lots written about KK's commitment (or lack thereof) to get better in the off seasons.Yep. When he came up he looked great. Then we inexplicably benched him and declared that he was tired. Julien then limited his minutes and he never seems confident again.
So it leads to all kinds of questions. WHY did they bench him? Maybe there’s a reason we don’t know. But from the outside looking in it didn’t make sense.
DD became coach and seemed to play him when he first got here. Then… same thing.
That regime seemed to like to play games with its top picks. Same thing happened to Galchenyuk and that one really didn’t make sense. Unlike Galchenyuk though, KK never displayed the ability to rack up points. Moreover he never had Chuck’s injury problems later on. And he wound up on a really good team. He should’ve been able to produce over there.
Not sure what his problem is. Maybe he’s a head case, maybe uncoachable… and I don’t think we did him any favours. Many things can be true at once.
What’s clear as day though is that we drafted the wrong guy. Tkachuk would’ve succeeded. His style of play would’ve been a lot more compatible with Julien and he’s been flat out awesome in Ottawa.
agree. without at least knowing how many wheels @Runner77 's aunt would have, it's difficult to speculate what she could be - I mean, is a tractor a possibility? the Leafs' 18-wheeler? a conundrum in deed. Many things can be true at the same time.

Bennett’s sucker punch is nothing compared to the laundry list of dirty deeds Marchand has gotten away with over his career. This one goes in the deserved retribution category.Refs have lost control of this series and ya he’s a rat but that was a dirty sucker punch on Marchand
