Missed tonight but it sounds like Skinner had another adventure. Crazy that they’re rolling the dice with him. Even more insane that Nurse has a similar contract to Makar and it lasts forever.
Meanwhile I keep wondering what’s going to happen with Marner. That’s going to be the story of the offseason. Maybe in a new environment he can find his way in the postseason but I don’t think it happens in TO.
And PLD, what a disaster. I didn’t want to sign him and I’m glad we didn’t. But he had produced like a 2A, 1B center. At least his numbers were decent. His dropoff is horrific. Especially in the playoffs. That guy better get his ass in gear over the summer or he’s going to be beaten to death in LA. How that guy goes from 60 something to 40 points is crazy. He was also probably the worst player in the postseason on any team.

It's possible when their other stars are actually showing up. Lindholm has stepped up his game after a disappointing regular season.
Marner is the worst of the bunch in Toronto but he is not the only player who disappears come playoff time.

Dubois might just be one of those players that don't actually care about the sport. He is in it to be some sort of influencer that earns enough money to pay for an expensive lifestyle.
Destinations like Columbus and Winnipeg were too blue collar for him. He wanted to go to the big city for the glamour and to show everyone that he made it.

When I watch all these games in round one and now round two, I think the Habs are so far away from that type of competition. All these teams have the right balance between youth, veterans, skills, speed, grittiness, size, solid goaltending. etc…
