as we all saw on the COVID run ....we got to the cup because of the 3 monsters on defence, strength down the middle and like 5 guys who were 6'2 + on the 3rd and 4th lines.
watching NYR, Caps, bruins, leafs Jets and Aves all killing each other, one can see it's impossible to win anything with a RHP, CC, Gallagher and Newhook all in the lineup.
One can also see the importance of Arber Xhekaj. nobody bring this on D - maybe Mailloux someday. Struble has nowhere near the intimidation and strength of AX.
with Hutson in the lineup, the D, more than ever is going to need to have size.
Lots of cycling in the new NHL ; lots of sustained pressure and speed in the O zone.
The only way to kill a cycle is by hammering guys.

Also add that Matthews thrived playing with rats like domi and bertuzzi.
