To be fair some hockey players and other professional atheletes have extremely low IQs bordering handicap that would prevent them from working at McDonald's if sports weren't a thing.

I also seem to recall him claiming that tanks to Brady Tkachuk Ottawa is now a destination city in the NHL. Guy spent too much time in the sun.

So Dorion gave up a 7th OA, 12th OA, 39th OA, two more 2nd round picks and a 3rd round pick for 2 players (Cat & Chychrun), who ended up being nothing more than one year rentals in years where they didn't come close to making the playoffs.

Sens are a good example of what we shouldn't do which is to rush the rebuild and misjudge when it's time to add. They started adding the wrong pieces. They needed to fix their goaltending instead of going with either over the hill options pr unproven options in net.

IMO Sens & Buf made the same errors, not surrounding prospects with suitable vets who could ensure complacency & apathy along w individualism over team success didn’t set in.

As much as many have called for Savard, Matheson, Gallagher et al to be jettisoned, you need the right vets to build culture and keep the focus even during development years of team success as the be all & end all
