With Hill emerging as the top goalie in Vegas, maybe they would be willing to trade Thompson with a year left until UFA in order to get an asset for him instead of letting him walk.

I'd do it as a Sens fan. I'd try to push them to take Forsberg in some capacity if at all possible.

If Vegas wants to trade with Ottawa, they either overpay or get less in return. Drop it to a second, or add a goalie going back.

I'm willing to bet McCrimmon would prefer to obtain a cost controlled roster player over a future asset. Thompson may not be knocking on Vezina's door any time soon but he's a talented young goaltender.

My bad, trying unsuccessfully to multi-task again. FWIW, wouldn't surprise me if McCrimmon dealt Thompson in the summer.

I like Thompson but it’s also hard to evaluate Vegas’ goalies because the team is away so f***ing good lol
