Best team in the OHL poised for a deep run. Up 3-1 in their opening round series against the Generals.
Might as well get excited for some kind of playoff hockey in Ottawa this year.
Just won coach of the year on a very young team that wasnt supposed to be there. Won WJC gold. He's a great coach lol what is this. Peterborough is a veteran team. This board just loves blaming the coaches for absolutely everything...Welp the 67s are imploding and are now down 3-1 to the Petes.
Truly a Dave Cameron squad.

OSEG, OHL executives, and Hockey Canada would all disagree with you on Dave Cameron. He’s not a great coach. Not at all.
Thank you for a take that actually took into account real facts and actual game watching. Cameron is a big reason why the team finished first in the first place. He got so much out of a very young team, they play with terrific compete and structure. On paper Peterborough is more experience, is older and has a higher end roster at this point. I wouldnt count them out yet either. This is Jr hockey.OSEG, OHL executives, and Hockey Canada would all disagree with you on Dave Cameron.
It's easy to look at the standings and say that the 67's are choking right now, but every junior hockey expert out there would tell you that a) the 67's definitely overachieved during the regular season, due in no small part to the young players exceeding expectations and b) the OHL was wide open, with no truly dominant team out there. In the meantime Peterborough, who also loaded up at the deadline and were a pre-season favourite to contend for the Eastern Conference title, spent most of the season underachieving. The Petes have two first rounders in the lineup in Beck and Othmann, while Ottawa has zero. What's more, Ottawa's draft eligible players are all ranked low second/third round and lower. Now, the 67's have a kid in Henry Mews who will be a 2024 first rounder, but he just turned 17 recently. There's a reason why the World Juniors, with the occasional exception like Bedard, is a 19 year olds' tournament.
Bottom line - if you didn't have the standings in front of you and just looked at the ages of the respective rosters and their pedigrees, this series is going pretty much the way you would have expected. Put a healthy Tyler Boucher back in Ottawa's lineup and maybe it evens things up a bit, but losing a 20 year old first rounder punches a huge hole in your lineup.
Yeah, you just never know. Ottawa comes with a big effort on Saturday and gets a win, and all of a sudden the momentum swings and the collar tightens a bit for the Petes. Without any stats in front of me, my guess is that more junior teams have come from down 3-1 in a series than have NHL teams. I'll be there tomorrow - potentially the last hockey game for almost six months, a very painful stretch indeed...Thank you for a take that actually took into account real facts and actual game watching. I’m basing it on my conversations and viewings of him coaching close up. Not a fan.OSEG, OHL executives, and Hockey Canada would all disagree with you on Dave Cameron.

The four teams left in the Q were the 4 clear cut best teams this year so both series are going to be great hockey. Would not be shocked at all to see Gatineau win the Q.Well Gatineau is an absolute wagon. Atleast we have the luxury of having two teams to cheer for. They won 25 games in a row. Honestly after watching them dismantle the 67's twice I didnt think this was the year for Ottawa. Theyre going to be really good next year too.
Yeah they are, but Gat has been the best of the bunch. They finished the season as the top ranked team in the CHL. Not sure if anyone has been to one of their games at the Slush Puppie Center but its an electric atmosphere. I preferred it over the Civic Center. The four teams left in the Q were the 4 clear cut best teams this year so both series are going to be great hockey.
