Maybe, but this honestly seemed like a death throe from them. Just a desperate, pathetic display from a team that knows it's clearly not on the same level as the team that's about to bounce them the third year in a row.
Not sure about this. The one thing I know about playoffs is unpredictability of it. We find out if Kings have any coaching, any adjustments, and if they have coherent leadership.

Isn't it strange (or not) that the best Kings playoff performance against us was without Doughty? So odd, because the guy can make so many plays but f***s up so much too. Even his mentality seemed to cost the Kings tonight and really he handed us the first goal. Star D can't lose his mind every 2nd game.

Oilers showing Nucks how to actually beat a team. Probably none of them watching. A parade in Surrey.

In a game where RNH, Drai, and McDavid all have 3 points, the biggest story is Kane.
Gordie Howe Hat Trick, and he was able to give the 2nd line an identity it'd been lacking. Simply outstanding.

Meanwhile they got to re-unite McLovin and McLeod allowing both lines in the bottom 6 to have a pair of speedy puck hounds (speaking of getting an identity). When L.A started to push the pace in the 2nd, I thought McLeod and Foegele did an outstanding forechecking, pressuring the puck, and breaking LA's flow. Same with the 4th line.

Also shoutout to Skinner for the strong bounce-back game. The defence played a clean game in front of him, but he was able to save the chances that broke through. Massive game by Vinny, especially on the PK.

Like previous playoffs, I think the Kings are actually doing a decent job against McDavid and Nuge 5v5. Unfortunately for them, once again they don't seem to have an answer for Draisaitl's, Hyman's, and Kane's size though.

The bolded has to be creeping into their heads tonight. Most of that roster has been booted by the Oilers two seasons in a row already

Talbot and Rittich both have issues with the Oilers too, they really needed to get that Ullmark trade or whatever done (glad they didn't...Korpisalo on his career year made last playoffs a pain in the ass).
