With the #166 pick in the 2024 NHL draft the Montreal Canadiens are proud and excited to select from AKM Tula of the MHL

Kirill Zarubin G 6’4” 201lbs
View attachment 858699

Had him lineup for my last pick but the TSLH as him rank as the #1 Goalie available, at this point figure I have to take him before someone else roll the dices and I hope that the next guy I wanted will slide...
“Zarubin is a very athletic goalie who takes up a lot of space in front of his net. His mitt is excellent, but he has shortcomings on the blocking side. Several goals were scored over his right shoulder, as he often lowers his blocker on shots. As for the rest, there's everything to like about this goalie.” -TSLH

Carolina: @le_sean you are on the Clock for pick #167.

@le_sean was PM

I will hunt you down. :hit:

This year Volokhin but bigger and playing for a worse team.

Having an over 0.900 sv% with a GAA over 4 is crazy. Over 40 shots per game.

If he's still there in the 5th (or even 4th), you pick him and deal with the logjam later.

From Shattuck St. Mary's Prep, Seattle selects Aidan Park

"Super-competitive centre who has a high-charged game and thinks every puck belongs to him. Plays with relentless pacing, stick work, and dominant three zone puck possession that is elite. Consistently patrols through the middle of the ice as a true two way player with relentless tenacity. At times his skating can appear choppy and full of short strides, but his quick feet fuel a high energy cutting game which overwhelms defenders. He is shifty effective distributor on the power play. A jack of all trades player with a high ceiling and will contribute in all aspects of the game."
--Bill Płaczek--

That's a good draft for Calgary. First 4 players will definitely add some quality depth to their prospect system.

With the 178th and final pick for the NYI, we are proud to select, from Kapitan Stupino in the MHL, F Fyodor Avramov.

Fyodor Avramov – DobberProspects

Big, skilled winger who uses his size to his advantage, very good shot. Will have to work on his skating, questionable IQ at times. Very raw, pure project.

18. F Emil Hemming
50. LHD Jesse Pulkkinen
114. G Ryerson Leenders
146. C Yegor Graf
178. F Fyodor Avramov

This wraps up my mock, took a look at NYI depth, and I absolutely had to take a goalie, they basically have none in their pipeline, for the rest, just tried to go with what I thought were BPAs, but it's all very relative, so yeah.

Hemming I may have selected a bit earlier than expected, but he has the size and toolkit of a top-6 player, just needs to work on his skating a bit, and to be more involved, but he's pretty young still, has room to grow, and that shot of his is great.

Pulkkinen is an overager, he's huge, very physical, even borderline too aggressive (will have to rein on that a bit), but he found an offensive touch in the U20 and got some points in the Liiga, so he probably understood what he had to do, could see a #4 if everything falls into place.

Leenders was the obligatory goalie pick, was glad it was him that fell though, he doesn't have the prototypical size of the modern goalie, but he's fast, athletic, and has pretty good reflexes, just needs to keep working on what he has, and see a lot of rubber.

Graf I think, if again everything falls into place, could be a middle-6 Center, a very complete one, not the most offensive, but always at the right spot, works hard and has a strong IQ.

Now Avramov I think could go higher than that, or maybe go undrafted. Yeah, it's polarizing. He's big and will go through you if he has to, his shot is dangerous, can protect the puck well... all that, when he wants to. The potential is there, for sure, at least top-9, but it only takes someone who wants to work with him.

Thanks @MarkovsKnee again for holding the annual mock, I appreciate it a lot.

Good luck for those who have picks left

@Kobe Armstrong is next and will be PMed.
