All of those pairs have played together in the past with at least half decent results.

This is true. Brodie and Engelland played lights-out against the ccanucks in the ploffs. Giordano and Wideman have had some good moments, too.

Monahan and Brouwer get A's this year, sounds about right!

The only downside I see is the lack of spots open for young guys. But they were open during training camp, and they were not taken, whether you agree with where the bar was set or not.

I think this has to be stated again. There were spots, the young players didn't play well enough to earn a full time roster spot.

Whether or not they deserved to be the extra players sitting in the press box is debatable. If they are better served playing in the minors full time with lots of minutes is another discussion as well.

Injuries will happen and I'm sure we'll see them.
