Patrik Laine's face scares the hell outta me. On the opposite side, Puljujarvi looks like the happiest person on the planet.

Puljujärvi smiles often, he's a dream poster boy.
But also he's one of the best prospects, in Finnish 1998 born age group.

Laine really has, NHL level wrist shot which will cause horror for opposite side goalies.
Also he likes play hard physical game, only difference between Puljuärvi and Laine is that, Puljujärvi is versatile player.
He can score but also, he can create scoring chances for his line-mates.

Puljujärvi is also really fast skater, and he knows his responsibility in defensive end.
Laine use his size, and protects puck better than Puljujärvi.

If Flames wants Laine or Puljujärvi, their prospect pool next summers draft.
They have to draft, in TOP5 to get either these elite Finnish wingers.

There's no many NHL teams, which will pass Laine and Puljujärvi.

These guys are still kids. I did a lot worse than flip someone off at 16. The big thing is that he owned up to it.

I'm concerned with how his teammates like him and how competitive he is. A little fire doesn't bug me.

I just think that threatening to kill your coach isnt the best way to show you are competitive and dont like being benched.

Top ten in order of the quality of their hockey name (which often determines a player's fate):

1. Sam Steel (C)
2. Tyson Jost (RW)
3. Kieffer Bellows (C)
4. Jakob Chychrun (D)
5. Tyler Benson (LW)
6. Dante Fabbro (D)
7. Mike McLeod (C)
8. Pierre-Luc Dubois (LW)
9. Austin Matthews (C)
10. Dillon Dube (LW)

Sam Steel would be cool although he would make Bennett sound a bit pedestrian. In 2017 we should definitely make sure we get Trygve Many Guns.

Have you seen some hockey mom's though? Maybe the coach made an inappropriate comment.

Obviously that was a big mistake, I don't even know the player so I'm not partial to him either way. But I'm just saying these are kids learning how to be adults. Playing an emotional game as a teenager sometimes can get the best of you. If a team passed on him for that reason when he was clearly the best player at that spot, it could be a massive mistake. But a team needs to do their homework, if he does have real attitude issues (and it's possible) then a guy like that could end up falling.

I think 'my picks' will be made much later in the season when we kind of know where we're at. I don't think we'll be a bottom team this year... If the boys have a good showing on this road swing, the entire season can really change.

There are really, really good players available at the start of this draft. Clearly, Matthews is the class of the draft; and would be sick in a Flames jersey. The chances of that happening are slim to none, in fact, he has a much better chance at being part of that oil fire up north.

I'm guessing we pick a d-man as our first rounder. Since we haven't picked one since '09.

Just added two pretty good ones last year, and picked up Dougie too. I think this team's fairly comfortable with the backend. BPA all day.

Monahan, Bennett and Gaudreau will help that number out quite a bit.

Also have to keep this in mind, from 2004 to 2010 the highest draft pick Calgary had was the 23rd overall. The comparison and the 'success' mark should be at Detroit, the teams that have the 700+ were the teams drafting pretty friggen high during that period. Not excusing our poor drafting, but there's a difference between 300 and 600; versus 300 and 1000.

In addition to that, the Flames had literally one 2nd round pick in that time period. Your chances aren't great when you have a grand total of seven picks in the top 60 over seven years, with none in the top 20 (thank you based Jokinen).
