The league is just so fast now. If you're a slow skater already and your legs start to go. Good luck. If anybody has seen Wheeler lately, the dude looks like he's trying to skate 30mph, but only moving at 10... I exaggerate a little as he's already reached a decent top speed this season, you get the point.

People that keep posting this never look at how affordable his buyout is

The big problem (aside from the 6 year cap penalty, no matter how small it is) with buying him out, is that it doesn't help until next season. If you can dump him now, you get his cap space to play with at the deadline. A 1st is still a heavy ask of course, but in this case it might be worthwhile.
