Moving goalposts? Nobody seems to know what they're doing as a team.

Are they rebuilding or not? Most Preds fans here still say they are. The goal is to be terrible or vad to rebuild. Not continue to try to be a bubble team. If they're trying to be a playoff or bubble team, why? Sure they're not terrible... but why then?

Why does what they are doing have to fit a label?

They sold a bunch of vets, the rest of the Vets got hurt, and the kids still damn near dragged them into the playoffs. So a traditional "tank" rebuild probably isn't in the cards, and isn't really suited to the Nashville market.

So I'd call what Nashville is doing is a "development" phase. Tomasino, Novak, Evangelista, Glass, Fabbro, Carrier are the next core and are already NHL ready. We have 5 first round picks who will be in Milwaukee next year who will develop better in Milwaukee than being thrown into the NHL before they are ready. So surround them with some good vets plus Josi, Forsberg and Saros and see what happens. They all develop, but they don't have to endure crushing bad seasons of suckage, so they also learn to win.
