He was pretty effective in Van after the Horvat trade then completely lost his mojo this season. I was shocked when we managed to unload him and actually get a pick back given his cap hit.
Hopefully he can turn it around for the Preds, just as long as it’s not against the Canucks.

Symbolic add.

Definitely one of those, "we believe in you!" sort of deadline acquisitions. Dithering around getting a player for basically nothing, to show that you're moving toward the playoffs! Without actually giving up anything or committing to it in any way.

But that's fine. That feels like about where Nashville are as a team right now.

Jeez Beauvillier has dropped since he was with the Islanders. He was not too bad at some point.

He was never really very good though. He just had a few random hot streaks, and a lot of not much else going on. He had that little hot streak with the Canucks after he was acquired in the Horvat deal too. People were declaring it a huge win! And then predictably...he went ice cold again for ages afterward and still hasn't run into another little hot streak despite even getting the "change of scenery" trade to the Hawks where he should've had a golden opportunity to play top minutes and do some inflated scoring...but couldn't.

He's just a real "tweener". Not a good enough or consistent enough scorer for the Top-6 whatsoever. But also not really gritty or big or physical enough, good enough in any sort of "role" or even particularly robust defensively to thrive in the Bottom-6. Just as unremarkable "Middle-6 Utility Filler" as they come.

Preds get: assuredly nothing
Hawks get: probably nothing

Mild win for the Hawks?

Mild jest. Don't have anything against the guy, hope he finds new legs. But on a roster filled with rubbish surrounding Bedard, he at best didn't stand out.

His claim to fame will always be the Anna Kendrick tweet.
WRONG!

That was legendery. But him delivering this line on the last goal ever scored at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum was epic!

"That building coming into overtime was smelling like cigarettes, and now it smells like beers,"

Olczyk… still a nerd.

For his cap hit, getting any pick back has to be a win for the blackhawks
