As with all things, tickets prices are set by supply and demand. Demand would really, really have to drop off for them to even consider lowering prices.

Funny thing is NHL tickets are about the same price range as NBA tickets yet NHL players make peanuts compared to NBA players. And no, roster size is not the only reason.

NBA, NFL, MLB, they're all so far ahead of the NHL in terms of league revenue and as a result, player salaries.
