Twins weren't even expected to come close to making the playoffs and yet here they were. Be happy, guys. They did very well with their caliber of players and the younger ones are getting really good. Twins just need to fix that bullpen and they will be fine.

13th straight playoff loss...10 of those to NY. They make be able to keep making the playoffs...but unless massive changes in spending are made (and it's the Pohlads...so they won't) the Twins will not contend.

Really surprised it didn’t end with a Mauer strikeout, would’ve been extra MN sports

Earlier in the game when he made an out in a clutch situation I predicted that he would get a meaningless opposite field single with two outs in the ninth.

He puts me to sleep. What an underwhelming player relative to what has been expected of him. Can't wait to see the back of him. What's he making, 25 M?

Twins simply didn't have the pitching this year, but Santana giving up the lead immediately was beyond deflating. He looked like he had nothing out there. Berrios had better stuff, but made a couple of mistakes. When your two best starters play like that you are screwed.

And what's with Granite not stepping on first base? How can you forget to do that?

Hopefully Buxton and Sano heal up during the off season and are as good as new. The Twins are in good shape with their young position players, but they need to get much better pitching. I can easily see Santana regressing next year, and then what do they have?

I think they need one more starter and several bullpen pieces (at least one elite reliever). The bullpen for the Yanks dominated last night. Also remember the Royals were successful on the backs of their dominant bullpen when they made the WS back to back years.

There's a lot to like about the direction of this team. Now they need to fill in the gaps to take yet another step.

Twins will be fine. They don't need a massive upgrade in payroll to compete. Perkins is off the books and they'll eat Hughes contract for another two years Nolasco still has $4 mil on the books too. Really they need one #2 caliber starter, 2 bullpen arms to complement Burdi and Jay coming back plus an outside shot of seeing someone like Stewart move to a reliever role. Gonsalves should step into the starting rotation early in the year too. A bat like Khris Davis would be ideal.

Heard on the radio this afternoon that the Twins ae the 1st team since 1925 to score 3 or more runs in the 1st third of an inning of a playoff game and lose the game

Badgers stopped being cute and are just running the ball against the Huskers. Something like 18 straight run plays and counting.

Jonathan Taylor has the best cut in college football. He’s the size of James White but he plays like Melvin Gordon. He’s a true freshman to boot.
