Looking for information on the NHLPA's lockout pay to the players. Was December the first monthly check they received? I've read some players got $10k US, some received $20k US. Why do some get 10 and others get 20? And finally, how long are the monthly checks expected to be coming? Just curious, thanks.

I read it was $10 000 for everyone across the board no matter what kind of salary you were making prior to the lockout.

I don't believe that guys like Alexei Yashin and Jagr got a cheque for ten grand

Lord knows most NHLers cannot. How are they going to pay mortages on their lakefront properties, Mercedes, Vipers, Yacht's, and Winter Mansions? The banks are not going to be too sympathetic for the players.
