Saturday is going to produce a big number.
But, but...somehow some or most of us will likely be disappointed with the ABC rating, maybe blaming Saturday as being the slowest tv night, right?

Heck, the NBA gets "stuck" on ABC on some Saturday nights in the regular season, right? And they manage a nice rating on Saturdays, nonetheless.

Game 7 could come close to 4 million viewers on ABC Saturday night. (If not a little over). Game 7 of the Bruins/Panthers had 3.2 million viewers on cable last year. The interest will be higher this year with better story lines. Toronto, an original 6 team with a tough playoff history over the past several decades. Also a Bruins team would be devastated with a loss.
Wasn't the Bruins vs. Panthers game 7 on a Sunday night, a big tv night, which helped ratings, vs. this game 7 on a Saturday night?

Yes, but was also in Cable which means NESN also had coverage.

ABC being exclusive + plus light NBA night + storylines will probably equal something along the lines of most watched non-Final broadcast on record or at least since 2002.

Maple Leafs Vs Panthers as an opponent is a wash. But that all of the NE / Bruins audience will be watching ABC will drive it up.

1.44 million last night on TBS For Bruins / Leafs.

In other playoff action Thursday, TBS averaged 1.44 million for Bruins-Maple Leafs Game 6 in the Stanley Cup Playoffs — nearly doubling Lightning-Maple Leafs in the same window last year (723K), which overlapped with a competing Rangers-Devils game on ESPN2. Even including that competing game, this year’s viewership outpaced the combined 1.33 million who were watching in that window a year ago.

Really solid numbers. Let's see if it can become a record game 7.

Numbers are down from years past for the Leafs. That’s been the trend in Canada. The country is changing.
You keep saying all these things, and others have asked on other numbers you questioned, and yet you’ve never backed it up with anything.
What were last years numbers, where is the info on the trend.
Like the NYR and Knicks as well.

Feel like the difference between cable and broadcasts kind of nullifies that.

Also, last year being in cable meant the Boston market didnt count in the national ratings, this time they do. Unfortunately, there is only 1 home market due to Toronto being a Canadian team.

I still think it gets 3.4 million though, if its a close game.

Meh if the league is smart with the schedule they go with Rangers @ Canes/Isles and then the all Canada west semis. They get a good lead in and the numbers won't crash.
So the NHL went with the Bruins series before the all canadian series and it's fine too Boston will give them solid numbers.
