Honestly one of the most irritating things in all of sports is how the Pens always seem to have a bare cupboard and then they get guys like Guentzel and Rodrigues to come out of nowhere and keep them competitive. It’s annoying as hell so if you guys could stop that’d be great.

And the answer to your question is obviously yes. Probably better than Ovi too. Ive been told on these boards both have been washed up for a good six years now.

I’ve been hot on Rodrigues since Buffalo, but what he is doing this year is bizarre. It’s not a fluke. He’s just having like a top ten two way forward impact out of the blue.

Yeah but those guys are all first round picks. Guentzel, third round. Rodrigues, undrafted. Conor Sheary, undrafted. Both organizations are terrific at drafting and developing and identifying talent otherwise we’d be like the Oilers. It’s great when we do it but really irritating when you do it.

To me he’s more dangerous than Fox or Hughes. If I had to bet on who will be the best D in the league over the next 5 years, I would bet on Makar for sure.
