Bruins should seriously start taking calls on Ullmark, if they aren't already. The goalie market is hot and you could easily get a few draft picks (maybe as high as 2nd/3rd round) + the cap space.

Go with your future Swayman as the #1 and find a cheap backup on the FA market. Plenty of names there that would come much cheaper than 5M that could fill the spot.

cannot move Ullmark if he has a NMC in year 1 going into 2, I don't fully trust Keyser to be that backup just yet....

Absolutely.

This organization doesn't operate like this though. Squeeze the stars and underpay them and reward the depth pieces and overpay them.

Ullmark is way better than any of the goalies moving. He won't let us dump him on a crappy team but he'd waive to be #1 on a good team.

We might have been able to get something good for him. You can always find good goalies outside of the NHL if you scout hard enough too recycling mediocre backups isn't the answer either.

again the ultimate question is: do you trust any of the Providence goalies in your system to be the # 2, whether it's a drafted prospect like Keyser or outside the organization/veteran mentor..... and then if you trade Ullmark.... does Swayman have that capacity to teach and/or mentor whomever that backup is.... that's why I think you see Swayman and Ullmark get along as well as they have.

There is no way we'd promote an organizational goalie.

We'd have to add someone. There are plenty of good older vets in the AHL and then you have the Euro leagues. You can find a good goalie outside of the usual retread backups or our guys that have little AHL experience.

MAYBE, Maybe not..... but Keyser's now getting to that territory where Vladar was before you dealt him to CGY, Brad, if we keep extending Keyser as just was done this is why I wouldn't be quick to deal Ullmark right off....

Makes too much sense, so expect Sweeney to do nothing.

you should, that's what those teams have to do when Boston takes their players up to the next level, and the E is doesn't limit players not on an affiliated team.

In regards to this discussion, those two teams don't factor into it. So there's no reason to care about them in regards to what you're saying and I'm saying.

wrong, where do you think these draft picks will most likely be playing next year..... Providence

Most of these picks will be playing in the OHL and whatever leagues they're currently in or college. None of the players they're drafting today are going to play for Providence this upcoming season.

not always.....we've seen College players sign ATO's at the end of every season..... the difference is the clock starts to sign them..... or like McLaughlin signed as an undrafted player
