Avs forward Jonathan Drouin out with lower-body injury for playoff series against Winnipeg

The Colorado Avalanche will be without forward Jonathan Drouin for their first-round playoff series against Winnipeg due to a lower-body injury. Drouin got hurt when he tripped in the second period Thursday against Edmonton. The Avalanche practiced Saturday morning before leaving for Winnipeg.

From what Smith said, they are planning to do a fan vote/bracket to pick the name.

A local news company did an unofficial poll of a bunch of names starting yesterday. ~7100 votes as of this morning and here is the top 5:

1. Yeti (36%)
2. Outlaws (13% and my personal vote)
3. Blizzard (10%)
4. Raptors (7%)
5. Black Diamonds (6%)

Pretty sure it's going to be Yeti in the end unfortunately. Smith also made a comment he wants a blue/purple color scheme aligned with the Jazz. His vision is a venn diagram where there are similarities between the Jazz and NHL team while still keeping the brands distinct from one another. I think he mentioned Pittsburgh as what they want to avoid where all the major sports are basically identical in color.

Another fun fact: only 400 of the initial 6k season ticket deposits came from current Jazz season ticket holders. They were at 20k a few days ago and I think upwards of 25k+ today. I am one of those 5600
