NHL Highlights on YouTube with fake crowd noise?

Someone in another thread suggested that it might be due to YouTube’s automated copyright actions on videos where there is music playing in the background (as in, the arena music).
It also might be because the arena was pin-drop quiet after that goal, so they’re injecting a false sense of crowd engagement for the sake of the highlight package.

Nah, they had similar stuff happening in the Oilers/Kings video package from the other night its like whoever is cutting these videos together isn't good at their jobs.

If they're going to use fake crowd noise at least capture it with good stereo mics or something, so it doesn't sound offensive. The mono noise is absolutely ear-shattering and also makes it impossible to hear the commentators. This is the worst "feature" of these playoffs.
NHL could just license those. It's not that hard. This all could be handled in the off-season.

I assume most American fans would prefer to watch their own broadcast, but the Sportsnet YouTube page has highlights and it doesn't do this garbage.

I'll take Attitude-era Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler dubbed on ESPN highlights over listening to Buccigross, Weekes, Campbell or Hextall at this point.
I think it was real. Canucks fans are known for their good sportsmanship.

It reminds me of the year that Ric flair won the Royal rumble and in reality Hogan was getting booed by the crowd and Sid was getting cheered. The edited recordings have sid getting booed and an obviously fake Hogan chant going

It's so bad it's on every goal highlight tonight. Goals will be scored and the crowd noise will be exactly the same for either side because it's not mixed, what the hell are they thinking? You don't even hear the goal horn this is insane.

The Bruins - Toronto highlights were so sad.
At first I thought they do it only for goals scored by away teams to mask the home teams disgust but they even pumped it in when the Leafs tied it.
The pumped in fake noise drowned out the goal horn and it sounded like a clown car honking it's horn.
What a weird a random decision to do this stuff.
The person responsible for this needs to get tossed off a boat
I think they actually added fake goal horn noise on top lol it's ridiculous.
Completely ruins any atmosphere that usually is there.

The whole soundtrack sounded like it was AI generated. Even the announcer.

Just checked out the OT goal I missed from the Kings/Oilers game...who in the hell decided this was a good idea? I literally felt no excitement or emotion you would get from hearing the actual crowd react....not that the Oilers crowd would explode but the silence or booing does give a genuine feel compared to this crap.

Rather than ranting about how bush league this appears, I'll ask if there is anyone on these boards who has a connection with who creates the NHL's highlight packages. It's probably just a YouTube copyright thing, but if that's the case, why does Sportsnet not have to do this?
