I'm hoping the thought process was to keep him in Albany playing center for the time being rather than shift him to LW.

I'd imagine he is going to be Fiddler's replacement once he is traded. I'm hoping he can be our homegrown 4C for a while as well, just from the brief stint this year, I feel like he would be very strong in that role.
