The PHF is growing up. Sponsorships will do that.Surprised it's at Mattamy and not some random public rink on the outskirts of the city.
What's with leading the league in PIM's? Ffs, buncha brutes.
Signing the MVP from Toronto and making her the highest paid has really worked out for them...The Beauts ain't that far behind The Six. But they clearly have nothing else to shoot for.
Daryl Watts is a stud (in a women's hockey sorta way). I watched her grow as a player @ BU and turn into a true leader @ Wisconsin. If anybody deserved US$150k to play in the PHF, it was her.Signing the MVP from Toronto and making her the highest paid has really worked out for them...
Completely missed that, MGM signed for a paltry 80K.Daryl Watts is a stud (in a women's hockey sorta way). I watched her grow as a player @ BU and turn into a true leader @ Wisconsin. If anybody deserved US$150k to play in the PHF, it was her.
I presume Mikyla got a sniff of U.S. life, and decided this is where she wanted to live & work. Not that the $$$ didn't help her make her decision.Completely missed that, MGM signed for a paltry 80K.
EDIT: Watts is for 2 years, MGM only 1.
AFAIK, she still lives in Toronto and commutes for games. But 80K US on top of what she makes at FedEx is a pretty good deal. I think the conversion rate is roughly 30% currently. Re: the Watts signing, I found a tweet that says 150K next year, and 200K the following year.I presume Mikyla got a sniff of U.S. life, and decided this is where she wanted to live & work. Not that the $$$ didn't help her make her decision.
