I honestly have no faith in Blackwood, but wouldn't be super surprised if a mini heater happens, maybe like the 2019 second half Cory Schneider market correction heater. I also don't have a ton of faith in that happening either, but it wouldn't be the most shocking thing I have ever seen.

I find it particularly that when he sucks (Philly game, Washington game) people blame the team and defense, but when he has a game like last night, people are so quick to give him all the credit.

I would not say he played well last because of the team/defense, that's for sure.

The 2nd intermission I kept dreading that the backbreaker might be coming and we could see 2 more goals before the night was over.

We did see two more goals (three with the empty net) and a backbreaker, but the backbreaker was the second Bratt goal on Bob (softy through the arm) and the Sharangovich deflection goal.

Feels like that could be the backbreaker for the Panthers, they're NHL 500 and they've hardly got any wins in their last 8 or 9 games (CBJ and us) and unlike us early on, they weren't getting a whole lot of wins early in the year either.

And talk about playing the WRONG goalie. If I were a Panthers fan I would totally wanna punch Ole' Four Eyes for how much he's leaning on Bob, who has been the inferior goalie this year. Knight was out sick for a little, then comes back for a few games to sit backup behind Bob, before they threw him in there against Boston, who he stunk against.
How about Tkachuk attacking Nico when the game was basically done?

I'm sure you hurled some expletives Tkachuk's way.

You can get good food anywhere, you just have to know where to look. I've had excellent barbecue in California and great tex-mex in Boston. I've also had people in both those places tell me they don't know what a chicken biscuit is.

I've never had Vietnamese food as good as I can get in Atlanta, or Ethiopian. Part of that is just community sizes. When there's a 2 mile stretch in Atlanta where all the signs are in Vietnamese, it's pretty easy to find the good stuff. I'm sure it exists everywhere else though, I just don't know where to go.

I sure do.

They’ve been popping up more and more the last so many years.

There weren’t as many when I moved here in 2011. And 20 years ago when I was just a frequent visitor, I’m not sure if there were any here.
It's sorta strange no Wawa in the Carolinas or Southern Virginia. That's QT country and Sheetz in NC. QT is good if your thirsty same with Sheetz. Food is better than a regular gas station I guess.

@Bleedred have you posted the video yet? I tried looking through the thread and your posts but couldnt find anything.
No.

Basically it was just a 5 second clip of me screaming “Thank you Mackenzie for not sucking!” While Pang was interviewing him. I was on the opposite end of the ice though.

No but the Panthers fan to the left of me screamed “f*** him up!”

I have video of some of that and I think you can hear him in the clip.

I just checked Florida GDT for my own morbid curiosity. Of course they defaulted to the tired old “imagine living in New Jersey” comments. Yeah, imagine living in a state that is top 3 in education, household income, and healthcare? It’s truly awful!
Not for nothing but, like half of Florida is from New Jersey!:nod::laugh::sarcasm: Love it or leave it I guess. We looked pretty well represented in the crowd last night from what I saw.

My high school friend who was at the Devils/Caps game with me after Thanksgiving and who lives <20 minutes away from FLA Live in Plantation was literally there last night.

This is a different friend from my NYR-fan friend in the Tampa Bay area who I go watch the Yankees with at the Trop. He rarely misses NYR/Bolts games at Amalie.

The only major pro team in Florida that doesn't get invaded by visiting fans is the Miami Heat. (Almost as if that's the only team both local and transplanted South Floridians got behind in droves. Funny how Shaq and a title and LeBron/Wade/Bosh and two titles did that.)

okay you....

If you don't stop this, I am going to start saying that "Ben LoveJoy is a Beer League hockey player".

Don't think I won't...

(but that said, you're right. My opinion means nothing)
In thr abstract I agree with you 100%. Tkachuk jumped Hischier at the end of a very hard shift which is weak on his part. Hischier has no obligation to fight him in today’s game. My only question is what the other guys on the team expect from him. I could absolutely see that breaking down along age lines. Hischier takes an awful beating and doesn’t let it slow him down and shoukd be respected for that as you’ve noted. Frankly, Hischier probably unwittingly had the same impact a Marchand has in last nights game. Florida was so worried about him it probably got them off their game a bit. At least we don’t have to see them until March.

Yeah I notice these things. Mets Marlins games looks like Steve Cohen put roof on Citi Field. He probably will lol!

Not that it's news, but Tropicana Field is truly Yankee Stadium South, as awful and cliche as that sounds.

You can truly cheer like you're in the Bronx there if you're a Yankees fan. Even at Oriole Park the Yankees fans there seem to have a twinge more respect for the home team. Not at the Trop.

The Trop looks like such a dump that I want to see a game there. Still not an excuse to not support a perennial 90 plus win team. When the Mets played in a shittier shit hole they drew 3 to 4 million to watch a good team.

All I will say here is echo what someone else said :

If the Devils find themselves comfortably in a playoff spot, send Geersten, Ok, and whatever other Goons(or wannabe-goons) up to the team for that particular game and go wreck Tkachuk (and Ekblad) to deliver a message.

May as well do a bit of a video dump. At least the good stuff.

Here’s part of Nico/Tkachuk

Here’s the last few seconds before the buzzer and the team skating off the ide

Team bus pulling in

Blackwood stopping a bunch of shots in warmup

This was after the game winner I think

Part of Haula and Lundell’s fight

Team coming out for the 2nd period

Start of the 2nd period

Hope I got all these labeled correctly.

The Trop is genuinely not as bad as it looks on TV. I used to think it was a dump too and then when I actually went it made it more mystifying that the Rays can’t draw because it isn’t so bad as to deter fans and has some neat quirks. The concourses are clean and well lit and you can tell they take great care of the venue. (The lighting in the catwalks is awesome. They really took ownership of that quirky roof structure.)

The Old Stadium and Shea were bonafide dumps at the end and that never deterred NY baseball fans.

The Trop is fine, I just don't much like going to a baseball game that's indoors. And the roof is up more times than not for Rays games.
