Sometimes to move forward... you have to look backwards.

@Hollywood Couturier he is obviously the most complete tool ever, but he mentions six sources that told him it is going to happen.

If you think about it, Oregon isn't necessarily the ideal place for a "Special Forces Tough Guy" to thrive - as a lifelong fan, it feels more like the ideal place for an "innovator" to thrive. Someone more Silicon Valley than Fort Bragg, you know what I mean? So even if it isn't Chip (it will be, but even if it isn't) this could be good for us eventually, and good for football in general.

I get he makes a lot of money & there could absolutely be worse things. So the responses could be “so what”.

But it’s kind of f***ed up what Miami did with Diaz this last week or so. The way these reports have been leaking you would have thought the job was vacant. Diaz was out there recruiting for them all this time.

If you’re not a fan of Dabo you should be rooting for Venables to leave town for Oklahoma.

We already saw what happened without higher end QB this season. The defense was still really good though. They’re weren’t a 9-3 team in a weak ACC because of the defense.

They still could replace him with someone good but guys with Venables tracks record generally don’t give you 8 years on the job.

Kirby is a bottler. Needs to play Daniels.
Something is off there with Daniels, but I'm not sure it's Fields/Fromm 2.0. Daniels got healthy, won the job last year, started the season as #1, got hurt again, has been cleared for weeks, but it's been crickets from his camp about him not getting back into the starting role. His parents have been vocal in the past, so it's weird to see nothing from his side about his playing time. My guess is he's set on transferring again and has basically checked out. There have been quiet rumblings around the program about his desire to play and risk another injury.

Alabama looked the part last night. They haven't played that well since week 1 against Miami, and importantly for them, the OL looked like Alabama quality against arguably the best unit in college football this year (Georgia's front 7). They knew they couldn't run the ball and dominated in pass protection, despite everyone knowing they were one dimensional. And Young was just slippery enough, per usual, to turn defensive stops into big plays down the field.

Georgia needs to grow up in the secondary really quick and they need to go another direction on offense if they're going to stick with Bennett. They can't go into a rematch with Alabama, assuming they get by Michigan, with Dan Jackson and William Poole playing in a significant role. My guess is some younger, more talented DB's get increased reps in prep the next three weeks. And please bracket Williams at all times. Make someone else beat you. On offense, they can't get pressured into gun-slinging possessions back and forth. Run the ball, keep Young off the field, and limit big play opportunities the other way. They were most successful last night when they pressed the edges in the run and short passing game. It's not sexy, but Bennett in the middle third of the field is disaster waiting to happen.
