The reformed Czech Line quickly pays dividends in a road victory against the favored Detroit Red Wings. Martin Havlat potted 2 and Martin Rucinsky got 1, with the linemates accounting for all of the Oilers' goals.
The big story was the goaltending. Evgeni Nabokov kept the Oil in the game with an "All-Star" performance, and the opportunistic Czechs did the rest.
"The Wings were creating a lot of offense in our zone, we don't win without a goaltender of Nabby's caliber" said a relieved Keenan.
The game-winning goal came late in the 3rd from Havlat on the powerplay, due to a careless highstick by Mike Van Ryn. Edmonton faces division rival Vancouver tomorrow night.
