I've followed Mukhamadullin since he got drafted. Thought he had an interesting name and was appealed by the hype. I've since been unimpressed. I noticed he had decent numbers in the A but it is his what? D+4?

If Barron and Harris had 2nd pairing D upside Habs wouldn't trade them

I know the common HFBoards' logic states that if a team sucks then all its players suck but no, these young have plenty of potential and can play well in the NHL. I mean the Devils suck too but that doesn't mean Nemec sucks. Though I must admit that what I've seen of him on the Devils has left me underwhelmed.

I do really like Mesar. Don't know anything about Harris and Kovacevic though. Barron is meh to me but I haven't watched much of him just highlights.

AHL all-star this season. But sure, you definitely subscribe to AHL Live to watch him play, so you being “unimpressed” is definitely not you stat-watching.

barron is from the same draft and harris was drafted two years earlier. i am not sure this helps your argument.

OP is disgusting. I see a lot of this sentiment and I’d like to formally shut it down. Sharks are not interested in trading down from 14 to 27. Find some other sucker. I don’t care if Harris or Barron or whoever would play in the Sharks top-4 now. I want legit top-4 defensemen, not more #7’s forced into top-4 roles.

Fantasize that we’re going to trade a top-15 pick for a defenseman who is gonna hit waivers in the fall if it makes you happy.

to be fair, its not because he is bad it is because he was surpassed by Mailloux and Reinbacher and The Habs will lose him on waivers. so why not try to get something for him.

I wouldnt rush Hutson or Reinbacher but they are coming soon imo

I like Mesar too, but he doesn't fit SJ well. Those other pieces aren't very valuable to SJ, they're more like throw ins than pieces used to move up that many spots. The Habs do this in a heartbeat.

MTL gets 14th overall, Kasper Halttunen, Thomas Bordeleau and Vitek Vanecek.

San Jose will draft a defencemen with that 5th overall + Barron as another defencemen to the system.

Montreal will likely get to draft a very good forward prospect with that 14th overall (Good forwards are dropping since the defence logjam in top 10) + they get Halttunen (playing in the OHL finals, had a hat-trick and is a certified sniper), Thomas Bordeleau (Has taken good steps forward to his potential, Montreal kid) and Vanecek is a wild card (he has potential imo)

Barron for Bordeleau has been discussed, let's say that's fair.

To put it simply, if #5 gets moved, I want to recognize the names returning - good young NHLers or blue-chip prospects.

(Keep in mind, I think the OP is completely unmanageable. No one trades down without getting something tasty in return, unless all their draft targets are far off on their lists)

He almost certainly won't hit waivers, though. He isn't worth the difference between picks 14 and 27, of course, but I expect he'll either get a chance in Montreal or be moved to a team that expects to give him 60+ games and every chance to at least be a 3d pairing PP specialist, and hopefully work on his defensive consistency.
