IMHO I would go with Niemi.

Detroit had an off year last season, but SJ is consistent, i don't think the off ice turmoil is as big of a deal as the Media wants it to be.

I agree with Alltime, Niemi should be more reliable next year.

Now, if Datsyuk and Zetterberg and Franzen and Weiss and Howard himself all stay healthy, it could wind up being close. But I doubt it. I drafted Howard a bit early last year because I expected Detroit to tear it up in the east and I regretted it.

This Question really boil`s down to who will get more Win`s. And for that you have to look at the Trend`s:

Nemo
11-12: 34 Win`s
12-13: 24 Win`s
13-14: 39 Win`s

Howard
11-12: 35 Win`s
12-13: 21 Win`s
13-14: 21 Win`s

I think the Choice is clear.

I'm a Red Wings fan and I'm taking Niemi. It will be closer than some think, but it might come down to Niemi getting less starts, now that Stalock is getting some plying time.

I expect 35 wins from Niemi and 30 from Howard.

Stalock could be a real threat to Niemi for playing time. We have seen Niemi having bad stretches before.

So, I might actually go with Howard here.
