In 1908-09 Butte had organized a hockey team to play in the Montana State Hockey League though only playing two games both against Missoula for the State championship unfortunately falling short of any official league play.In 1909 Montana officially had a Ice-Hockey League planned as well as an Butte Inter-City league.By 1910 The State League was underway involving teams from Butte,Anaconda,Missoula,Helena,Great Falls,and possibly Billings and Boseman.
