The call wasn't that bad when you look at the play. Yes, he was off the bag, but the moment the ball hit the glove, it's very hard to tell, ie inconclusive. I think they call they made was fair. Sure, there are stills of the ball in Smoak's glove and his foot is way away from the bag, but that's well after the initial catch. It's not an easy call, and it's fair to say they made the right one calling it inconclusive.

Actually, you’re right — presuming Torres is here for the long haul, Austin makes the most sense. Especially since Walker can play 1B in addition to 2B, and Drury can play all of 2B, SS, and OF in addition to 3B.

No shot. They are riding it out and will live with the growing pains. No reason to send him down so you could keep that bum Walker. They let Andujar work it out and lived with his struggles to start the year
