I can't believe this guy never was drafted last year. 5 goals and 2 assists tonight and a +7 against Red Deer. 36 goals and 48 assists for 84 points and finishes in 7th in scoring in the league. I know he went to the Rangers prospect camp but how can he go undrafted? His linemate '08 eligible Zach Boychuk had 2 goals and 6 assists. He finishes 3rd in scoring with 91 points.

Michael Grabner is considered "one-dimensional" offensively, and he was picked 14th overall in the NHL draft. Similair size at around 6' 170 pounds.

I can understand the fact that his point totals weren't all that high in his draft year, but alot of the people on these boards like to say "that's why scouts go to games." I think Fadden is very talented offensively, and the best thing that could've happened to him was being dealt out of Seattle, where you pretty much are told not to play any kind of creative offensive game. I always thought that the Mitch Fadden/Bud Holloway combo was a strong one, and I was surprised when Fadden went undrafted, while Holloway was taken in the 4th round.

I woulnd't be surprised if someone takes a shot at him in the late 7th round of the draft, or if he gets a FA contract at some point in the future, you can always teach a kid to play defensively, but you can't always teach them how to put up big time numbers.

I would anwser this :

43 pts in his draft year : http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php3?pid=00062360

151 pts in his draft year :
http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php3?pid=00059655

Both were draft in 2003.
The first guy plays in the nhl and the second guy will never see an nhl puck.

Points arent everything, in the nhl, you have to play a specific role.
If you are an uni-dimentional guy, you wont perform great in the nhl.

Actually Locke had 43 points in his draft year as well, he was eligable for the 2002 draft, but yeah i agree points aren't everything.

Granted I have only seen him a handful of times live it seems like he isn't terrible defensively. Maybe you have seen something I haven't? Anyways I think someone will take a shot at him.
