All of the physical players have been injured this season, Greenway, Foligno, Hartman, and Duhaime have all been out and the team is very undersized without them. The team and especially Kaprizov have been getting harassed and the refs have laid off calling things. Kap went from 5th in the NHL for drawn penalties to 50th with Dean blowing a gasket at the refs every night. It’s a move for intimidation and to help make the skill players more comfortable on the ice.

Rangers prob also when Wilson ran wild. Kreider, trouba + coupla others all just happened unluckily to be injured.

He was surplus
if lineup can be simplified by removing whatever pieces of surplus there are, that helps to generate mo opportunity for mins

They could have just resigned Brendan Smith for half his cap hit to do the same job as Reaves did here Reaves reminded me of Brashear, a vet that was close to the end. I miss the days of Colton Orr. Any young tough guys on the cusp of making the NHL? Rangers need a tough guy with some potential until Cuylle and Rempe get a look on the Rangers .
