No. But this might have been a lingering ailment bothering him all year, and that they wanted to give him rest.

Does the team gain cap space for later in the year by carrying a little less salary day-to-day?

I know they can't go over $73m or $76m or what ever it is, but if they carry $600k less for 7 days does that mean they can carry $600k more for 7 days later?

Especially being at home I'm not too worried (call-up from Cleveland can be packed and here in 3 hours). If we were on road then yes it would be good insurance to have at least 2 healthy scratches.

I believe so. Never completely researched it but I used to notice on Capgeek that cap measures fluctuated continuosly.

I really don't think they do.. I haven't heard of any injuries today. They could just go with 12 forwards like they did on Saturday night against the Blues since they are at home again.

Jarmo has been caught before with game day illnesses or morning skate injuries and said he'd never let it happen again. We'll see.
