Mikhail Berdin could possibly be picked up on waivers, Philadelphia might need a goalie to start the season depending on how bad Carter Hart injury really is and how long might he be out, Philly medical staff long story.

Winnipeg seems to be doing away with everything Russian including goalies, as the Peg has a decent sized Ukrainian population close to 100k.

Berdin seemed like a decent 3rd string goalie with a little upside but I don’t really know much about him other then he scored a EN goal in the USHL as a teenager.

According to CapFriendly the Jets no longer hold his rights.

At 25 he appears to be entering his prime and has been a big part of Sochi's success this season.

Any likelihood he returns for a shot at the NHL or will he likely spend the rest of his career in Russia?
