J. Jagr A (i'd give him an A+ but too many minor penalties_
J. Huberdeau A (needed to finish better but he'll turn it on in the second half)
A. Barkov A
J. Jokinen B+ (most underrated player)
V. Trocheck B
R. Smith A-(obvious upgrade over Hayes)
B. Pirri C+ (needs to do more than just shoot)
A. Ekblad A-
B. Campbell B+ (when this team is winning he seems to really turn his game up)
N. Bjugstad B (before injury he was a B, takes time to get back into the swing of things)
D. MacKenzie A-
D. Kulikov B+
Q. Howden B (Great energy guy on the 4th, needs to see some PK time)
W. Mitchell C+ (slow start really made him look like he was Jovo 2.0)
C. Knight A-
L. Shaw B
E. Gudbranson A- (he finally got a good d-partner and what do you know, he plays the best hockey of his career)
D. Bolland fail
C. Brickley B- (before he got sent down I thought he was an A, looked completely different his second tour)
A. Petrovic B-
R. Grimaldi C- (expectations for him have been way too high)
S. Kampfer B-
S. Thornton C
D. Olsen B-
G. Wilson C

R. Luongo A+ (awesome team defense in front of him but he's putting up Vezina numbers)
A. Montoya A+ (best backup in the league this year?)

Gallant A (made some changes after our awful start, new D pairings have changed everything, imo, needs to improve the PP to average and get Bjugstad going, winning record is all that matters at the end of the day)

Why so much Pirri hate? He's on pace for ~18ish goals and 40 pts and 5/6 shootouts.... What were your expectations?

People expected 25-30 goals. His play has been lackluster 5 on 5. He shoots too much which kills the play and causes his line mates to chase the puck around. He needs to do a better job of maintaining possession, imo.

You want him to score more and you want him to shoot less.

I expected him to score more but his shot is not like it was last year. He's also not getting any help on the PP because he's the only one on his unit who shoots it seems.

Shooting too much can be a bad thing like passing too much. You have to be smart with the puck in the offensive zone and not just throw it at net like there is only 2 seconds left on the clock.

Jagr is actually taking less penalties than is his career average.

Yeah, I think it's really just that earlier in the season he wasn't taking any, but he's had quite a few very recently, so it's just fresh on people's minds.

A couple ones that are kinda surprising are Bjugstad and Pirri. I'll give Bjugs the benefit of the doubt with the migrane issues along with the back surgery he had last year, but Pirri hasn't impressed me a whole lot. Shootouts he's been great, fair enough. But he doesn't create a whole lot during 5v5. Hopefully he finds the spark he had last year because we're gonna need him to step it up here.

Remember, Bjugstad had 7 goals before he missed time due to the migranes. I'd give him an incomplete rather than a lower grade.

D. Kulikov: C- (Dissapointing would not care if he was not resigned)

D. Bolland: F (Done nothing usefull and worst contract in NHL)

R. Grimaldi: F (Usless, to small, brings nothing)

S. Thornton: C- (Saving grace is what he does for the team spirit off-ice)

Others have done what is expected or more then expected.

Apart from being a bit rusty coming back from injury, he's looked really good with Ekblad. He's been at worst, a number 3 defenseman this season.

Kulikov has been very good. Steady as hell and he's made a great pair with Ekblad. Not sure a C- is fair.
