Interested to see how close to being an NHL player Grebyonkin is at this point.

I think he will be make the jump next year or 2025 season at the latest.
His game translates to any of the 4 lines which should make it easier for him to make the team.
Decent size.

Maybe doing Grebyonkin a favour, to curry favour if he is loaned back?

It's almost certainly that.
Wouldn't surprise me if a loan clause will be in his NHL contract if he spends too much time in the AHL. Both Amirov and Ovchinnikov had something similar.

"After a great season in the KHL, Nikita decided to go to the NHL. And why not? We know this is his dream, every player wants to play in that league. We sincerely thank him for his championship season, his emotions, talent, and we wish him good luck in the newest stage of his career. We believe our pupils deserve to represent our school and city at the highest levels. At the same time, Nikita is a Magnitogorsk guy and he knows the doors of Metallurg are always open to him,”

Big series finale for the Marlies today.
Gotta be Hildeby again?
See if some of the kids step up some.

Belleville is a tough team to beat. Should be interesting how they do. It definitely should be Hildeby.

A shame the Leafs don't have Tverberg for this series.

Yeah, he was tracking well and seems like a playoff guy. Woulda been fun.

I know the BOS series isn’t over, but, damn…I’m more excited about the Marlies Sunday game than the Leafs Tuesday game.

Marlies lose 4-3 in OT and their season is over.
Not even mad. The adversity this team battled with injuries up front and losing streaks, and still pushed a better team to game 3 OT. Good season for the Marlies. They could have made some noise if they were healthy.

Well said.
How’d they look?
Musta played some tight D, only 24 shots in 3+ periods.
The prospects were quiet in the series, unfortunately, as far as the scoresheet was concerned. I guess Rifai qualifies as a potential late bloomer.
Any one who watched have reports on Quillan, Hirvonen, Kokkonen, Hildeby, WillyNeuve, Hildeby over the series?

Likewise, came in to post the same thing. I get that he's by no means a can't miss prospect- but he's progressed well year over year, and looked good at camps- everything you'd ask for a CHL based 7th rounder to earn an ELC.

Agreed. And it's not like the Leafs have too many prospects or players to play on the Marlies. At the worst you have a decent Marlies depth player. He can't be worse than whatever they iced on the bottom lines.

I'm getting the same vibe and feeling the same frustration as when Dubas passed on Middleton. No it's not a franchise changing decision, but releasing guys that earned contracts because they're not "your guy" is just so petty.

They should just sign him IMO, very similar numbers to someone like Verhaeghe who we let go far too soon as well. Only thing I don't love is that he's undersized but may as well just let him marinate as a project.
