I remember reading some time back that Allan Walsh sued Gaborik after he fired him at the end of his holdout last season. Does anyone know whether that case was resolved?

Allan Walsh and David Schatia sued Gaborik through the NHL Players' Association last year. They claim they are entitled to a percentage of the deal for services rendered before Gaborik fired them and hired Ron Salcer to settle his dispute with the franchise. There have been four days of testimony before arbitrator James A. Gross. The decsion is pending at this moment.
The decision of the NHLPA arbitrator is binding as Matt Cooke of the Canucks found out when he dumped his agent and was ordered to pay up and did not.
In 1999, arbitrator Theodore St. Antoine ordered Cooke to pay former agent Rick Heinz $11,763 (Canadian) for helping to negotiate the forward's first three-year contract with the Canucks in 1998. Cooke hired Heinz in 1996 and fired him during the negotiations with Vancouver, hiring Patrick Ducharme to finalize the deal.
St. Antoine ruled that Heinz was entitled to 1.5 percent of the gross compensation, plus 8 percent interest, for each of the three seasons of the contract.
Cooke paid Heinz for the 1998-99 season. But Heinz had to sue Cooke in the Supreme Court of British Columbia for the remaining $11,763, according to the petition Heinz filed in 2001. Cooke paid up before the case went to trial.
