Marek Zidlicky is 39 years old and his stats last season 53GP 4G-12A-16PTS 20PIM +5 +/- and in 5 playoff games he had 1A 4PIM

Could still play in the NHL as a 6th or 7th defensemen, but Zidlicky could probably get more money playing in the KHL, NLA or somewhere else in Europe then he could get in the NHL at this point, so it's kinda hard to say if Zidlicky would play in the NHL or any other league or just retire and return home to Most in the Czech Republic.

He can definitely still go if we are judging by last year. The team just needs to realize that he is not a 40+ game player. He cannot play that many games at this age or he breaks down looking at last year.

Honestly he wasn't that bad last year, but expecting him to be more than a #7 would be a mistake.

Islander fans had pegged him as a bad player before they even signed him, but he had a solid season with us. If someone needs a vet RHD, he's a great guy to go get. He was a really good placeholder for Pulock.

He was good for the Devils, despite some defensive lapses here and there.

His offensive production from last year doesn't look that bad. Still was on pace for 25 points over 82 games.

I think he could have one more year left as a bottom pairing guy/PP specialist.

He's also at the age where he could completely implode though.

Always loved to watch this guy play despite the hate here in Jersey. He was real fast to go around and get the puck out of the D zone. But at this point, I don't see what he could bring to any NHL team. Solid career.

Marek will be coaching his son's pee wee hockey team this season in northern new jersey.

Hanging them up.

Great player. Better person.
