How does Malkin's monster post-season stack up historically? Also Crosby's, to a slightly lesser extent?

Middleton's 33 points in 17 games in '83 didn't make it? Or Bossy's 35 in 18 in '81?
How do you come up with those adjusted numbers pnep?

I've seen a number of these all time playoff lists now. Some of them have even had adjusted totals such as yours. WHY DOES EVERY LIST OMIT MARK "THE MOOSE" MESSIER'S 11G 23A 34pts in 19 playoff games (1988)? Dig deeper guys.

Relax my friend. There's no omission there, it simply does not make the cut. 34 points in 1988 roughly adjust to 28-29 points, so not enough to make pnep's list.

At the very least, the best two individual performances since Joe Sakic's in '96.
Got to agree with this. Malkin's Conn Smythe was the best I saw since Sakic in 1996. When the final arrived in 2009 Wings coach Babcock made a choice to shadow Crosby like he was the last man on earth. This was successful, but Malkin was left to wander with a lot more freedom. Thankfully Malkin stepped up and got 8 points in the 7 games which is a big reason why the Pens didn't win in 2008 (Crosby did his part but Malkin did not in the final).
Plus he was amazing in that Carolina series. That backhand behind the back goal against Ward was eye popping. He was simply just dominant.
Crosby on the other hand was stronger in the first three rounds combined but Malkin was better in the final. Crosby put on arguably the best show I have ever seen in a playoff series vs. Washington. He outduelled Ovechkin and in all honesty this would be on a short, short list of best play ever in a series by a player.
The only Conn Smythe performance close to either one of these guys since 1996 would be Richards in 2004 and Zetterberg in 2008.

You're missing one key point regarding the '09 finals and why Babcock was forced to focus on only Crosby...Datsyuk was hurt and missed the first 4 games and when he came back he wasn't at 100%. If Datsyuk played the whole series (and was relatively healthy) he would have probably been matched up against Malkin. Malkin may not have won the Conn Smythe or Cup with Datsyuk on him all series.
Zetterberg (and Lidstrom) did their job against Crosby shutting him down for most of the series. Missing Datsyuk was huge.

Crosby definitely took it to a different level vs Washington (13 points), but I recall Malkin being the stronger player in both the Philly and Carolina series....as well as the finals.
And to this point:
Games 1-4 (without Datsyuk on the ice): Malkin racked up 7 points.
Games 5-7 (with Datsyuk on the ice): Malkin collected 1 assist.
"Huge" is an understatement. Despite not producing offensively that postseason (which relates to his lack of offensive chemistry with Hossa), Datsyuk still finished +5. His defensive game was extremely valuable.
In regards to the best individual postseasons since Sakic's in 96, assuming all players, Giguere in 03 and Pronger in 06 also rank right up there with Malkin and Zetterberg.
imo, crosby was a bit better vs philadelphia.Crosby definitely took it to a different level vs Washington (13 points), but I recall Malkin being the stronger player in both the Philly and Carolina series....as well as the finals.

Datsyuk joined Zetterberg's line when he returned from injury (which went against Crosby's line). Malkin's lack of scoring during the final three games had nothing to do with Datsyuk.
