@TheBeastCoast with an absolutely dominant day with 9 points. Nobody else has more than 4. Having the only goalie win of the day + two mid-late round Finns have multi point games + all but one of your other players in action will do that.

I'm happy with 2 points. Only 2 guys playing, though I burned a potential game with Abramov being scratched(lmao), and they were some of my weaker players.

Waiting to update it since I feel a couple of the scoring credits were questionable.

But if you have Canadians, congrats you are still in it! And if not, well better luck next year.

I jump in to the lead with a 12 point day - largely thanks to a 6 point day from Cozens and a 3 assist outing from Turcotte.

Scorevat53 is right behind though after big days from Zegras, Perfetti and Peterka.

Overall, a very close race considering the amount of movement today. Good day to have Swedes, Americans and especially Canadians. I'll keep an eye on the scoring but if anybody notices the IIHF making changes to some questionable earlier decision let me know.

Considering my best 2 forwards have combined for 1 point, my 3rd best forward was moronically scratched, one of my defencemen got kicked out 5 minutes into his first game and my goalie didn't start I'll happily take my current position

Tight race at the top with surprisingly few goals today...I guess that corrects for yesterday's madness.

FinPanda led the way today with 6 points, half coming from a Lukas Parik shutout just as we all expected.

Kent moves in to a tie for the top spot with 5 points from Alnefelt and Holmstrom. Scorevat also sticks up there thanks to a few points in the late game. And Khabby is the biggest mover today with 6 points after big days from Stutzle and Gunler.

Canada4Gold has a decent 4 point day from his Swedes to keep pace too.

Everyone else had no more than 1 point and loses some ground. Tapu Coco and czechcanadian still fighting to stay in it but yet to reach double digits.

Starting to see a little more separation at the top. I lead the way with 12 points today thanks to Pelletier, Afanaseyev and York all having 3 point outings.

Scorevat also had a solid 11 point day to retain his top spot with a couple Canadian forwards and some guy named Zegras popping off.

Khabby's 16 goals is by far the most in the pool but his guys being unable to pick up assists keeps him out of the top for now. Crazy ratio of goals to assists though and could come into play as that is the tie breaker in the end.

Tapu Coco got his first few goals of the tournament today from Podkolzin and Kaliyev, along with Levi getting a shutout, to move him up a bit.

czechcanadian makes up some ground with a 6 point day from Byfield; but not much else keeps him tied for the last spot with LainePeg.

With today’s two points from Simontaival this is officially the highest score Ive had in a mope pool . Not bad considering my first couple picks of Dach and Jarventie.

I want Peterka to do good cause Sabres.

But damn, Scorevat now has a sizeable lead after that 5 point game from him.

Me, Kent and Khabby (thanks to Stutzle) are the trailing group but all at least 6 points back of the leader.

Thanks to 5 point nights from their Germans, Scorevat and Khabby led the way today with 7 points each.

Scorevat extends his lead to 6-7 points over the following pack of 3. Then another drop off to the next group who are still in it but will have a tough time catching up.

Happy New Year everyone!

I led the way with 6 points today with multi-point performances from Cozens and Turcotte to to put myself into 2nd going into the playoffs.

Scorevat had yet ANOTHER good game from Zegras to keep his lead comfortable at the top.

Khabby and LainePeg get shutouts from Knight and Malik to help both have solid 5 point days.

Still pretty tight in the middle, but all but 3 people are 15+ points back of the lead so going to need a great QF today if there is any hope at a run for the top.

Jarventie blanked again, Alnefelt might have lost his job. If finns lose to swedes my team can still straight up collapse.

Well, with only 4 games left to play the chances are Scorevat gets his 2nd victory in 3 years; especially with Zegras still in it.

As there are only 4 teams left, here is the updated roster numbers with remaining players left:

m0pe - 8 players (5F, 3D)
Kent Nilsson - 8 players (5F, 3D)
FinPanda - 8 players (5F, 3D)
TheBeastCoast - 7 players (5F, 1D, 1G)
Tapu Coco - 7 players (4F, 2D, 1G)
Canada4Gold - 6 players (4F, 2D)
Scorevat53 - 5 players (4F, 1D)
LainePeg - 5 players (3F, 2D)
Khabby - 5 players (1F, 3D, 1G)
czechcanadian - 4 players (3F, 1D)

It will take a lot, but Kent and I may still have a shot due to the number of players we have left - would need some high scoring games to go our way though.

Khabby, who currently sits 3rd, looks like will be in tough to even hold that position with only 1 forward left.

The middle is super tightly packed between 5th and 9th and can finish in any order still (too bad that wasn't the race for 1st)

And lastly, we have czechcanadian who has slipped from the pack. Will need a miracle from his 4 players left to avoid taking Kent's yearly spot at the bottom.

I can't remember a year with this few starting goalies. Costly for some, but seems like despite this, someone with no starter will win this thing. Should be an interesting last couple days.

Yeah made my decisions with little research this year. Fully expected Blomqvist to be starter for Finns. Picked him too early. A gamble gone wrong for sure.

Yeah it happens. I took Blomqvist early in the other pool for the same reason.

These pools are much more situation and luck based than research based but still fun to see play out.

So...Pelletier and Cozens being united on the top line may be just what I needed to get back into this...a combined 5 points in that game, and suddenly I am within 4 points of Scorevat for the top spot (he got another 2 points of course).

Please Finland, shutout Zegras for once. I need ya.

Also, Levi now accounts for JUST under half of Tapu Coco's total points (15/32). I find this both funny and soul crushing seeing as I missed out on him by 1 pick (I will never get over this).

I led the way again today with 7 points with good outings from Cozens, Turcotte and Pelletier.

However, Scorevat was tied for the next best day with 5 points. Zegras was held to 1 point for a change but Heinola stepped up to keep his lead rather comfy.

Going into the final day, I will likely need Cozens-Pelletier to combine for a few goals to have a good shot. Not likely but anything is impossible and I do hold the tiebreaker.

Khabby looks primed to hold onto his bronze medal position unless Kent has a big final day (or someone in the middle of the pack has a huge one).

Levi is my entire team. I’m absolutely flabbergasted as to how poorly the rest of my team has done.
