I hope to see Bratt look to shoot the puck more this year. Lose the pass first mentality I really think he had. Easy to have that playing with Hall. And it’s hard to change instincts. But he has a great shot - the slap shot as well as wrister - and could legitimately look to score more than he did last year.

I don't know, I thought his shot selection was fine last year. I remember some people complaining about a return pass he gave to Hischier in front of the crease, but it was the right play.

Players that I'm excited to see how they do this year after what they showed last year:

1. Bratt
2. Hischier
...
...
3. Wood
4. Zacha

I still say Bratt is the most unique player on this roster. No one sees the ice like he does. Just a matter of being consistent and putting it all together.

He has trained all summer with the same trainer that Nicklas backstrøm, hornquist and the top prospect for next year Alexander scholtz.

Really respected trainer who is so new in he's way of think athletic abilities. It's about movement in different and difficult positions while still being strong and in balance. Explosive movement with lots of agility and activation of the body when it needs to.

Thank you Jesper for playing well tonight AND being careful during OT.

Baby steps.

From the Game Thread :

remember when a few people suggested Bratt wasn't a lock to make the team

lol

Remember when someone said his only contribution would be Style points, as well?:laugh::laugh:

I am thrilled with his improved play.

But I am very encouraged with his developing chemistry with MarJo.

Brooklyn via NJ, like the Nets
If that second line doesn’t score enough to start the season, I’d switch Bratt and Palmieri. Zacha’s mental game is improving, but so far his talk about “wanting to shoot more” looks like a bunch of hot air.

I agree. He has 0 shots on goal so far in the regular season. Someone's got to tell him to put the puck on net.

As far as people forgetting how skilled he is, I think it's because Hall is so dominant and Everybody Loves Nico(a new TV Series!!).

Bratt is like the guy shouting "Wait for me!!!" chasing after the protagonists in a movie as the ending credits roll.

It's all good, though.

I think him being on the 2nd Line is better for him 'cause he's not constantly facing the opposing top line or shut-down pairing.

But I also agree that if that line isn't scoring, Hynes will need to switch it up and reforming the Kids & The Hall line might need to happen.
