If we have a top line C, a top line W and a number 1D, I think the rebuild phase is over.
Almost but not quite IMO.
If Brown is #1C (not even a star) that is a great step however I think we also need the following to happen (no particular order) before we can think of fine tuning and gap filling.
1. Batherson to be top winger in the league...consistently dangerous.
2. White to continue to progress and be a legit #2C
3. Brady to progress and trend toward a dominant power forward
4. Wolanin to progress and prove to be clear top 4.
5. Bran to progress and prove to be a top 4 D
6. One of the goalies to step up and prove they are least a future #1...Hog seems most likely in short term and then we hope someone is able to push to supplant him because then we have a great problem.
That gives us 4/6 of a solid top 6 and then 3/4 of a solid top 4D with a future starter in net.
If all the above can pan out (far from q sure thing) then we can hopefully have the luxury of Norris, JBD, etc...panning out and we have truly built from youth.
Our early 2020 pick is the icing on the cake plus whatever else we can gain from that draft.
That is how I see it anyway...this year will show a lot in how the rebuild is going.
